WAMX 3892 by Robert Katrosits in Transportation

The GP38-2 WAMX 3892 was built in 1972 as Chicago and North Western 4630. It became Union Pacific 395 when the Union Pacific bought the Chicago and North Western Railway in 1995. It still wears the Union Pacific paint scheme, but its WAMX reporting marks show it is now owned by Webb Asset Management, a subsidiary of Watco. Watco is the owner if the Wisconsin and Southern Railroad, which operates this state-owned stretch of track between Saukville and Sheboygan Falls.
The photo was taken just north of the village of Saukville in fading evening light and a light snowfall.
