Taking a Leave From CW
Hi CW Friends. Just wanted to take a moment to let all of you know that I probably will not be logging on to CW for a while (probably 6-8 weeks). A very good friend of mine will be having surgery tomorrow and will be out of commission for anywhere from 6-8 weeks. I am going to be her caregiver during that time and will probably be very busy caring for her, taking her to therapy and doctor's appts. etc.
So, I just wanted you all to know that I'm not ignoring anyone by not casting votes, during this time, I just probably won't have the time.
Good luck with all of your posts and can't wait to see all of your POTD's when I get back!
A lovely, peaceful place to collect your thoughts and count your blessings. Located in Salem, WI.

I had never seen anything like this in my life. This shrub?, bush?, plant?, tree?, was absolutely captivating. Bent, twisted, tortuous, but yet beautiful. I snapped it in B&W hoping to add a little more drama. Definitely a neat find for me. Hope you like it too!
(Corylus avellana 'Contorta') or more commonly known as some type of Harry Lauder's Walking Stick.
This is just a fun capture that I wanted to share with all of you on CW. There are always so many wonderful eagle photos posted by some very skilled wildlife photographers on CW. I am NOT one of them! Lol. Maybe one day when I buy a camera that has better zoom capabilities than mine. Until then, this is probably the closest I will ever come to capturing these beautiful, majestic birds.
I spotted this unique carving, created by a local artist in the Caledonia area, took a few photos basically just to show others how talented this man is.
The two eagles are carved completely out of a tree that stands on the property of a local farmer/ businessman. It's quite a sight to see. Hope you enjoy this 'just for the fun of it" shot.

I was in my car the other day driving around to take some pictures when it began to rain really hard. I was at the Wustum gardens parked under a tree. I looked up through the sunroof and was watching the raindrops hit the glass. This is one of the shots I took through the sunroof. I thought it looked pretty neat and I hope you do too!! :D

I'm a recently retired medical transcriptionist who started taking photos as a hobby a little over two years ago. I have never taken any photography courses, but do occasionally go online to get tips on how to take better photos. All of the photography terminology is new to me since I joined CW and I have a better understanding now of what capture, pov, ISO, white balance, etc. all means thanks to you folks. My hope is that one day my photos will be as interesting and captivating as all of yours. I really enjoy being a part of this unique and talented group of people from the great state of Wisconsin.
